Meet the Team
Paul Magis
Chief Executive Officer
Paul joined inStream’s executive team as Chief Operating Officer in the spring of 2015. Paul oversees inStream’s Toronto-based technology and client support teams and is a member of the Company’s Executive Committee.
Previously, he spent over 25 years in various leadership and executive positions within BCE, (Canada’s leading telecom and multi media company) including Operations, Client Care, Information Technology and Product Management. Most notably, he was the key figure responsible for planning and delivering various enterprise wide software solutions, managing large annual capital and expense programs, and devising and introducing scores of process and system automation efficiency initiatives.
Paul is a member of the Board of Directors of Toronto’s “Fight to End Cancer” supporting the world-renowned Princess Margaret Cancer Research Foundation, and is active in a variety of other Toronto-based charitable organizations.
Clement Kwong, CFA
Director of Product Management and Development
Clement started his professional career in Financial Accounting where he worked to develop financial reporting for fund of fund hedge funds. After completion of the CFA exams in 2016, Clement joined inStream as a business analyst and quickly progressed to Product and Business Development. He works closely with investment advisors to identify their needs and develop requirements necessary to address those needs. Outside of inStream, Clement works closely with Jack.org, Canada’s leading organization in raising awareness to mental health issues amongst our youth. He runs an annual golf tournament that targets young professionals in hopes of raising awareness to mental health issues in everyday life.
Bryan Lee
Director of Sales and Marketing
Bryan originally joined inStream in 2010, as one of the founding employees. Prior to inStream, Bryan was a Managing Director at McLean Asset Management Corporation, an RIA outside of Washington, DC. At McLean, Bryan oversaw investment operations, and worked in general practice management across all departments. He was an Investment Committee member and held his Series 65 license. Bryan served institutional clients, and worked closely with advisors within the firm. He joined inStream as Chief Operating Officer and managed all day to day operations, as well as focused heavily on product management and the development of inStream’s software. Bryan served as inStream’s COO for over four years. Bryan currently serves as Director of Marketing for inStream and focuses his time on inStream’s digital marketing strategy. In this role, Bryan transitions his deep product knowledge and industry experience into inStream’s marketing and sales efforts. He also provides domain expertise to the inStream product management team and the inStream client community.

Evan L. Russo, MBA, JD
Chairman
Evan L. Russo is a Managing Director in the Investment Banking division at Lazard Frères & Co.
Mr. Russo is Co-Head of Capital Markets & Capital Solutions Advisory group and serves as a member of the firm’s Investment Banking Committee.
Mr. Russo has experience across a broad range of transaction and advisory services, including: Private Placements of Equity/Debt, Mergers & Acquisitions, Structured Equity & Minority Investments, IPOs & Rights Offerings, Public Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Capital Structure Advisory, Debt Restructurings, Derivatives & Risk Management, and Liability Management.
Prior to joining Lazard, Mr. Russo was at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its Investment Banking Division and at Barclays Capital in its Investment Banking and Capital Markets groups. Mr. Russo is also a corporate attorney and practiced with the law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
Mr. Russo received degrees from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A.), Columbia University School of Law (J.D.), and Queens College – City University of New York (B.A.).
Peter L. Corsell
Board Member
Peter L. Corsell is an entrepreneur and investor known for successfully bringing emerging technologies to market. MIT’s Technology Review recognized him as one of the world’s top innovators under age 35, the World Economic Forum named him a Young Global Leader, and the National Association of Corporate Directors included him on its inaugural list of leading directors under 40.
Corsell is Managing Partner of Twenty First Century Utilities, an investment holding company dedicated to acquiring and modernizing electric utilities to provide a superior customer experience. He is responsible for implementing TFC Utilities’ investment thesis of generating superior long-term returns through technological upgrades and embracing distributed technologies within the traditional regulated utility model.
He is also Chairman of GridPoint, which he founded in 2003 and led as CEO until 2010. An established cleantech leader and pioneer in the Internet of Things, GridPoint enables businesses, utilities and government agencies to maximize energy savings, operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. The company has deployed more than 500,000 connected devices and has saved its customers over $300 million and more than 3.7 billion kilowatt-hours of energy.
Additionally, Corsell is the cofounder of Hubub, a digital platform shared by individuals, publishers and brands for exploring and discussing interests, and a strategic partner of Bell Media, Canada’s premier multimedia company.
Earlier in his career, Corsell served with the U.S. Department of State in Havana, Cuba, and as a political analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency. He holds a BSFS degree from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Ryan Fickel
Board Member
Ryan is a senior technology executive with career success in leading software development, M&A execution, information security oversight, and infrastructure management for diverse organizations. A prior Sergeant in the US Marine Corps, Ryan now serves as CTO & CISO of Advisors Excel where he provides strategic oversight of product design, software development, infrastructure, and information security across multiple subsidiaries with over $22B in annual financial policies and AUM. In addition, Ryan is an active board member of inStream, where his deep experience provides strategic and tactical guidance on both the product development and overall organizational direction.
Max Farahani
Board Member
Max’s impressive career led him to become an innovative leader in financial technology to help advisors transform their business, accelerate their growth, and innovate for the future. With an extensive background as a financial advisor, and as a serial entrepreneur, Max brings first hand advisor experience to the inStream platform. He serves as CFO of inStream Solutions, and sits on the inStream board where his business and sales acumen helps drive the organization forward.
