Alex Murguia – CEO
Alex oversees inStream's quest to create solutions for advisors that leverage their collective wisdom. As a Principal of McLean Asset Management Corp., he became an educated consumer on financial software products and overall technology trends in the investment advisory space. This inspired him to bring together a team to build a platform that creates a very nuanced approach to handling an advisor's client servicing needs from a financial lifecycle management perspective. He hopes you'll like it because he would hate to be wrong.
As a principal of McLean Asset Management, he has been able to get a first hand view of the contextual relationship between investment management and financial planning disciplines.
John Scott Wotowicz – Executive Chairman
John Scott Wotowicz is Managing Partner of Concentric Capital Partners, LLC. Before Concentric, Mr. Wotowicz was Vice President, Head of Global Business Development and member of the Global Management Committee of Dimensional Fund Advisors focusing on firm management as well as the development of new strategies, relationships and products. Prior to joining Dimensional, Mr. Wotowicz was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where he founded Europe’s leveraged finance industry and was ultimately responsible for oversight of the firm’s entire European investment banking business as a member of the European Investment Banking Operating Committee. Mr. Wotowicz was also one of the architects of Morgan Stanley’s global lending business and was a member of Morgan Stanley’s Global Credit Commitment Committee. Mr. Wotowicz graduated Duke University (1985) with a major in Public Policy Studies and was first a lobbyist, then an award-winning marketing representative for IBM in Washington, D.C. He graduated Columbia University School of Law (1990) as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Mr. Wotowicz currently sits on the boards of numerous not-for-profit institutions including New York’s New Museum of Contemporary Art where he is the Board Treasurer, Washington, D.C.-based NPR (National Public Radio), Inc., Marfa Texas-based contemporary arts foundation Ballroom Marfa, Austin Texas-based Texas Tribune and Marfa Public Radio. Mr. Wotowicz is an instrument-rated private pilot, a producer of numerous West End (London) theater productions and a member of the Association of the Bar of the State of New York.
Peter L. Corsell – Board Member
Peter L. Corsell is an entrepreneur known for building successful technology companies that address longstanding social challenges. MIT’s Technology Review recognized him as one of the world’s top innovators under age 35, the World Economic Forum named him a Young Global Leader in 2010, and he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Corsell is Chairman of GridPoint, which he founded in 2003 and led as CEO until 2010. An established cleantech leader and a pioneer in the Internet of Things, GridPoint enables businesses, utilities and government agencies to maximize energy savings, operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. The company has deployed more than 450,000 connected devices, has saved its customers more than 2.4 billion kilowatts of energy and has reduced carbon emissions by approximately one million metric tons. GridPoint has received honors from The World Economic Forum, Bloomberg Businessweek and The Guardian, and has been featured in books by Thomas Friedman, Fred Krupp, Robert Galvin and Kurt Yeager.
Corsell is also the founder and CEO of Hubub, a platform designed to help fulfill the Internet’s original promise as the global public square. During the events of the 2011 Arab Spring, Corsell recognized that there were many great places online to read news but no great place to discuss it. He developed Hubub on new technology that combines social networking and publishing capabilities, enabling multimedia group conversations around any topic. The service was launched in beta at the end of 2013 with $8.5 million in Series A funding, and cited by TechCrunch as a pioneer in an emerging field.
Corsell is also a driving force behind other venture-backed technology companies. Clearpath is a web-based service that streamlines the U.S. immigration application process, minimizing time, errors and legal fees; and inStream is an online platform designed to bring highly personalized financial planning advice to consumers.
Corsell serves on the board of the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami Beach, a collection focused on social, historical and technological change. Earlier in his career, Corsell served with the U.S. Department of State in Havana, Cuba, and as a political analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency. He holds a BSFS degree from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Bryan Lee – COO
Before joining inStream Solutions, Bryan was a Managing Director at McLean Asset Management Corporation. Bryan brings wealth risk management and operational knowledge to inStream. As Managing Director, Bryan worked across all departments with concentration in portfolio management, investment operations, business development, marketing, compliance, and general practice management. Using his experience and creative drive to create new tools, Bryan uses his domain knowledge to help define the product scope for design and development needs.
Bob French – Director of Advisor Services
Prior to joining inStream Bob French spent the past 5 years at Dimensional Fund Advisors in their Financial Advisor Services group. While there he worked with Financial Advisors across the country to help them solve their investment and practice management issues. While at Dimensional he was also in charge of the Dimensional Returns© Program. In this role he helped advisors understand how to use returns data, and when not to use returns data, to solve business issues and educate clients. Bob is a CFA charter holder.
Brenan Danchik – Director of Operations
Brenan has been involved with the overall operations and business processes of inStream as well as developing and managing the vendor sales model. Brenan is specialized in management analysis across several industries by helping design, develop and evaluate multiple business process tools. Recently before joining inStream, Brenan was the co-founder of a national Project Management company and obtained his Project Management Professional accreditation from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Leigh Jedeikin – Director of Business Development
Leigh spent the past 5 years at Dimensional Fund Advisors in their Financial Advisor Services group, where he was responsible for business development, sales, and client service within the Southeastern US. Prior to joining Dimensional, Leigh served as a senior consultant for FactSet Research Systems, where he focused his efforts on the implementation of a vast array of technology solutions, in addition to client service and product marketing.
Leigh earned his MBA from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, and a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of San Diego.
Brian Reyes – Associate
While earning his Financial Planning degree from Texas Tech, Brian worked as a Planning Specialist for United Capital in Lubbock, Texas. Brian brings a strong understanding of financial planning and its principles to inStream. As a Planning Specialist, Brian helped create financial plans for advisors and was the support specialist for certain regions. He is our primary point of contact for customer support and integration setup. Using his background in financial planning, Brian will assist with the business process and product development of inStream.
Wade Pfau, Ph.D., CFA – Chief Financial Planning Scientist
Wade D. Pfau, Ph.D., CFA, is a Professor of Retirement Income in the new Ph.D. program for Financial and Retirement Planning at The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA, and is the Chief Financial Planning Scientist for inStream Solutions. Wade is a recipient of Financial Planning magazine’s Influencer Awards; his research article on “safe savings rates” won the inaugural Journal of Financial Planning Montgomery-Warschauer Editor’s Award in 2011. Wade works closely with inStream's Advisor Services team to develop new and innovative financial planning tools. Wade holds a doctorate in economics from Princeton University and publishes frequently in a wide variety of academic and practitioner research journals.
